WHAT HOUSE FOR WHAT CLIMATE?
How can we raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of adapting the way we live and build to the climate?
Versailles, France
"What if colors could change the temperature? What if a house could keep you warm simply because it’s painted red? And if you had to build your shelter in the desert or at the North Pole… which would you choose?"
This sensory workshop invited children aged 6 to 12 to explore the connections between climate, colors, materials, and architecture. Inspired by the Hot Topics exhibition and the themes of BAP 2025 – “4° between you and me” – it encouraged them to imagine habitats adapted to extreme climatic conditions, from the blazing desert to the icy pole.
A playful and creative way to understand how climate shapes the way we build.
The workshop was held in collaboration with La Maréchalerie, which offers children a full artistic immersion every first Saturday of the month: an age-appropriate guided tour followed by a hands-on workshop linked to the exhibited works or the artists’ creative approach. A special moment to spark curiosity, stimulate reflection, and explore architecture in a new way.
