THE WALL OF TESTIMONIES
Taller & Patrimoine is, above all, about lives coming together. The lives of our volunteers, from diverse backgrounds, intersect with those of the communities we support.
We provide a space for everyone to share their story, to explain what brought them to these encounters. Here, dialogue shapes our work: architecture becomes the pretext, and the meeting becomes the work itself.

"As a sustainable building engineer, I took part in a Taller y Patrimoine worksite in Bécal, at the heart of Maya culture. It was an exceptional human and technical immersion: restoring traditional houses, discovering huano roofing and bahareque techniques, and learning through the transmission of ancestral knowledge. Beyond the technical skills, the richness of the exchanges with local residents and fellow volunteers deeply marked me. This experience strengthened my commitment to vernacular heritage preservation and confirmed my desire to pursue a career in projects that combine sustainable construction with traditional know-how."

"I have found Taller de Arquitectura Maya on ArchDaily, and it was the perfect adventure! Not only did I learn the mud skills needed for my future eco-village, but I also acquired inspiration and the sense of encouragement to pursue my architectural goals.
This trip made me realize that my dreams of independent, sustainable living are much closer than I thought. We do not need a lot to get started: a machete, a shovel, a bike cart, some rope, and a couple of friends (the hardest one). I am now a fan of the empowering side of vernacular architecture that teaches us not to be afraid of our fantasies and to create great things with less."
